How can I become wise?
Often we can find ourselves in a situation where we have all of the knowledge but somehow seem to have none of the wisdom. The truth is, the word wisdom can be intimidating. Wisdom is something described as having a quality of experience and good judgment. When you think about it, who is known for having the best judgement? Who knows everything and has experienced everything? God!
Knowledge is knowing what to say; wisdom is knowing when to say it.

God is never limited to just one thing, and that goes for wisdom too! You have access to wisdom in all areas of your life; from school, work, spouses, children, all the way to life-changing decisions, and everything in between.
We can’t let the fear of not knowing what to do or say next, stop us from living our life. Knowing that we have access to the wisdom that God has makes life easier. We also can’t let the fear of making a mistake stop us, as we continuously seek God for wisdom in areas in our life.
As we rely on Him, His good judgment becomes second nature to us, and we are able to undertake each new area of life confidently knowing that God’s got our back.
Let’s take a quick look at what the Bible says about wisdom…
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all those who practice it have a good understanding. His praise endures forever! — Psalm 111:10
To be clear, fear of the Lord doesn’t mean to be afraid of God, but rather, to revere and respect Him. God is a loving God and wisdom brings us closer to Him and His perfect love which casts out fear. We cannot afford to forget that.
For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth comes knowledge and understanding; He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield for those who walk in integrity. — Proverbs 2:6-7
So we know that we can get wisdom from God, but how can we get it from Him? I’m sure you’ve heard the scripture before,
Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened. –Matthew 7: 7
Sometimes we make things harder than they need to be, but receiving wisdom is as simple as coming to God with an open heart and asking for it. Ask for wisdom, in whatever area you need, and allow Him to guide you. That sounds like a pretty good deal to me, what do you think?
